Multicue

MultiCUE is a research project of University of Amsterdam which looks into multilingual children’s abilities to communicate with other people. In other words, how does the fact that a child speaks more than one language influence how they have conversations with other people? We know from previous studies that multilingual children use cues from conversations (such as pointing gestures and eye gaze) in different ways than monolingual children who speak one language, but researchers still don’t know exactly why this is the case or in what situations these differences can be observed.
